OUR HISTORY
Agape Scholars International is an education assistance program started by Eugene and Jennifer Dunkley in June 2010. Eugene and Jennifer went to the sub-Saharan country of Malawi from 2009 to 2010 on a Fulbright scholarship. During this time, Jennifer began volunteer work with an orphanage called The Samaritan Trust, an organization which helps orphans and street children.
Recognizing the educational needs of the children, and hearing the call of God’s heart for them, they began to seek ways to meet the needs of the street children in the city of Blantyre and surrounding areas.
Eugene is a professor of biology at Greenville College and Jennifer is an instructor at Kaskaskia College in Illinois. They are also ministering as pastors at Coffeen Free Methodist Church in Illinois.
OUR VISION
All children in rural Malawi will have equal access to economic opportunities through early access to English and Information Technology. Partnerships with local churches will help to build character by teaching biblical principles to all children ensuring a good foundation for a service focused lifestyle.
