    Sending Encouragement to Mbayani Students

With the closing of the second term in Malawi, our Agape House Blantyre staff was invited to visit Likhubula Primary School where many of our Mbayani Back to School Project Students attend public school. The Great Mountain of Malawi: Secondary School

Under a shady tree in rural Malawi sits 60 plus eager students ready to learn from their overwhelmed teacher. Without proper desks or school supplies to learn with, the teacher and students both make due with what they have. While it is difficult to learn without a school building, the students are still grateful to have the chance to learn at all. However,  the overcrowding and competition of 60 or more classmate creates students who fall through the cracks and cannot keep u

Baking for Agape House Provides New Uniforms

In the United States, generally speaking, the talk of school uniforms is quite frightening. School boards across the nation have debated their pros and cons for decades upon decades. However, in Malawi, all students wear school uniforms. In fact, one can distinguish which school a child attends based upon the uniform he or she wears. In some sense, uniforms can provide dignity for the student who is able to remain in school and receive an education. Many of the students at Ag

Garrett Streeter: The Most Beautiful Place On Earth

This past January, our digital media intern, Garrett Streeter, had the chance to visit Agape House. Here are his reflections on his time spent in the Warm Heart of Africa: “The two weeks I spent in Malawi will always hold a special place in my memory.
